How a Cape Town stylist becomes a Greek waitress, you might ask?Styling2011 -
As a Greek waitress, I allowed myself to be. Words and photographs flowed: a food story for TASTE; a food magazine, a ‘lifestyle’ story for SARIE; a woman’s title and a décor/paint story for SPACES; a consumer publication.Photojournalism2012 -
Greeks, I discovered, are not shy to divulge their family recipes.
In this spirit I share some my favourite Greek recipes, taken down on my
iPad in the busy kitchen of Giorgos, passionate chef at Karina’s Taverna.
From my favourite fresh fish fillets, cooked in paper parcels, to Giorgios’s crumble, served spooned into the bottom of a glass, topped with his
home-made ice cream or mousse, they are all absolutely delicious.
Prepare them with love and you will be eating the warmth and passion of
the authentic Greek kitchen.Styling, Photojournalism, Food writing2011 -
Pascha, Greek for Easter, is a unique experience. The fields of the Greek countryside are flamboyantly splattered with paparouna (red poppies), evocative of traditional red Easter eggs. Light awakens from winter dreariness and the Aegean turns to the perfect temperature for the first swim.Culinary Arts, Photography, Photojournalism2013 -
Cool, crisped, airy, pleated, summery whites to layered, blended,
steamy, woolly wintery whites, whites are so easy to be with...
honest, comforting, cool and calm. White effortlessly transforms from delicate, tranquil and sophisticated, to faded, mellow and worn. A harmony of
whites makes a serene, contemplative space. To be surrounded with white
on white is pure luxury. - The extensive and varied portfolio of editorial work conceptualised, produced and styled by Tina-Marié Malherbe, is governed by a colour palette that is all her own. Her work has been widely published in interior magazines and customer publications.Decor Styling2011 -
Contemporary subtle nudes flirt with rich creams, dusty pinks and
understated off white shadows. Flesh tones evoke a sense of nostalgia,
as layers of subtle skin tones, dusky chalks and gentle muted pastels blend harmoniously with shades of grey and tones of clay. The effect is
fashionably sober, but very romantic. - The extensive and varied portfolio of editorial work conceptualised, produced and styled by Tina-Marie Malherbe, is governed by a colour palette that is all her own. Her work has been widely

Palest sky blues to deepest indigos, clearest aquamarines to moody peacock
or dark midnight blues; blue is simultaneously a reflective and stimulating colour. From airy, expansive and uplifting to meditative, blue generates a sense of calm, and heavenly well-being. Layers of blue remind one of distance, space, sea, sky, and endless summers. - The extensive and varied portfolio of editorial work conceptualised, produced and styled by Tina-Marie Malherbe, is governed by a colour palette that is all her own. Fiery festive scarlet to bold bloodiest berry, the mood escalates from
eccentric, sumptuous, seductive to electric. Passionate red finds expression
in sun-kissed tomatoes, potent geraniums, fleshy pomegranates, waiting
post boxes and seductive red lipsticks. - The extensive and varied portfolio of editorial work conceptualised, produced and styled by Tina-Marie Malherbe, is governed by a colour palette that is all her own.
